Local churches are invited to pray this in services on the weekend of March 9-10, 2019
O God, you are not done with us yet. We love you. We desire to serve you. And we want to be instruments of your grace to the farthest corners of the world. At the same time, we confess that we are divided because we are not all of the same mind around human sexuality. We need you, Lord, to show us how to love you and each other more deeply. Give us eyes to see the needs of the world, ears to hear the cries of the needy, and words to bring hope to all people. Challenge us with new ways of thinking and new roads of faith to travel. Remove hate and distrust from our hearts and fill us with the joy of the Holy Spirit, for our hope is found in Jesus, the one You sent to earth to show us how to live fully and love unreservedly. May the words of your servant Desmond Tutu, be ours as well for such a time as this, “Good is stronger than evil; love is stronger than hate; light is stronger than darkness; life is stronger than death. Victory is ours, through him who loves us.” In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
